The one thing that Stewart failed to mention is that one of the authors of these torture memos now sits on a Federal Appellate Court Bench. That is frightening. He really, really, really needs to be impeached. If Obama is going to keep Bush, Cheney, Rummy, Rove, etc. out of prison, I can deal. However, for one someone who used a bullshit legal argument to be interpreting other laws is not something that happens in Republics that want to continue to exist. Write your Congressperson. Impeach Jay Bybee.

Bob Dylan is funny

Half of the people can be part right all of the time,
Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time
I think Abraham Lincoln said that.
"I'll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours,"
I said that.

I laughed out loud in public when he said the last part. Go listen to "Talking World War III Blues." It's a good song.

WTF... again

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4073430

Greg Paulus is playing football. At Michigan. WHAT?

Bad move, Dick Rod. You're trying to build a program, not a circus.

Not a fan of this move.

WTF

Neil Cavuto has found a 9 year old Teabagger, and has actually asked the kid why he is there. WTF?

The really scary thing is that the guy didn't sound any less clueless than the "adults" who showed up. I use the term adult loosely.

This gets to the basic issue with the whole Tea Party movement. It’s a group of fucknuts joining other groups of marginally related fucknuts to protest something or other, in a hugely fucknutty way. The point of the Tea Party movement, besides the largest thrusting of testicles to America’s collective face since the Soviets launched Sputnik, is to protest...well, basically the entire functioning of the government with no alternative plan or goal whatsoever. The stated purpose of the protests is “protest against out of control government spending”, which, while something, is also terribly and uselessly vague. It’s easy to lump in the gun nut survivalists and the Paulies and any number of other wackos because a mission to do stuff (and things!) tends to welcome in anyone who has similar feelings about the top-level definition of “stuff”. When you have a bunch of angry people welcoming a bunch of other angry people with no core principles or mission, it’s hard to get pissy when you all of a sudden find yourself standing beside Clem the White Supremacist Marksman with your “NO PORKULUS” sign.

Wow. I'm turning into an angry liberal. This is terrifying.
Still, not as terrifying as seeing Michelle Malkin and Glen Beck on TV at the same time.

Funny

According to Paul Krugman, the Tea Party thing is an "Astro-Turf" movement: fake grass roots.

I thought it was kind of funny.

Does anyone know if the College Republicans or any other group will be having such an event at Tech on Wednesday? I think it would be fun to observe.

Hair.

So, I was told that I needed a haircut, so I got one. Then I was told that it looked terrible, so my sister fixed it (I use the word loosely), but I still need another haircut. I think my family just wants me to shave it all off. This is an action that has been discouraged by VT people who mostly have only known me with longish hair. I think it is already to short, and would like to keep most if not all of what I have left. I really don't know though. I probably should have just left it all there until I started looking like Neil Young.

Also, does anyone have his new album? I hope it doesn't suck. I want it.
